P26 - Different formats for presenting evidence-based healthcare resources - Clinical Evidence as an example

Clinical Evidence (CE) provides a summary of the best available evidence on the effectiveness of different healthcare interventions. It is produced by the BMJ Publishing Group in the UK and is designed for use by healthcare professionals. CE was originally produced in a full-text print format only, but has expanded over the past six years into a variety of other formats including; CD-Rom, website, concise print versions, PDA, etc. In this poster, we will look at the evolution of these different presentation methods and their popularity amongst end-users. We will discuss whether technologically driven changes always match what end-users want, or are able to use effectively and the important role for librarians/information professionals in advising and guiding end-users through the variety of product formats now available for them to access.
