P33 - Communication and corporation management within the context of knowledge society

This paper is aimed at mapping the relationship between communication and management in a corporation within the context of “knowledege society”, checking through the role of the New Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) vis-a-vis the networking of corporations.
In order to reach the proposed goal we employed the following analytical lines: knowledge management, business intelligence, decision making and organizational learning. We applied the comparative method of managerial models, using concepts of both the classical management model (management theory) and the new management model adapted to “learning organizations”. This methodology allowed us to establish the different roles of communication between the said models and specifically health institutions.
Our analysis suggests a new organizational model that may assimilate the concept of Inovation and hasten the decision making process. Such model is mainly based on building cooperative networks, which can ensure the workers’ participation not only in the organizational structure but in management as well, reducing the functional distance between manager and technician, so that the managerial role is performed according to competence.
