P91 - The tuberculosis in the context of the popular education in heath

The scientific knowledge in heath, in a comprehensive language for all, cannot be considered assistance goodness, but it is one instrument for the improvement of life quality in the communities.
The Reference Center Professor Hélio Fraga, Secretary of Heath Vigilance, from the Ministry of Heath, in Brazil, developed activities in partnerships with many social organizations to improved educational activities related to the tuberculosis knowledge.
The nurse have the function to oriented and to teach clients of the Tuberculosis Control Program (PCT), and the graduate students are strong allied in the activities of motivated the communities, with information about tuberculosis  prevention, symptoms, treatment and control ,  in a popular language.
Educational activities were developed with 70 nurse students, in 2004 and 2005, teaching them to developed educational activities in the communities related to the tuberculosis.
The nurse students visit the Reference Center, they visit the Bacteriologic Laboratory to know the Koch bacillus, and they participated in educational activities, in group dynamics, where they simulated experiences with the community.
In the educational activities the students were learning the change of information with the community, they learning also to use a popular language to facilitate the approach to the scientific knowledge.
All people have the potential to change behaviors and life styles since learning the reasons and benefits of the changes. The knowledge socialization or the popular education in heath, gave to the community the possibility to be healthier.
Conclusion: the partnership actions contribute to improve the social responsibility, the tuberculosis prevention and the heath promotion.
