The present work investigates the mission of the reading lead through the Bibliotherapy, in the improvement of the quality of life of the individual that passes for period of hospital internment. OMS says that & quot;health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being and not only the absence of illness or disease & quot;. Being thus the reading, in this study, is boarded as element that can be capable to provide to the reader: welfare, comfort, fancy and contact with the reality, through the stories and of its personages the reader/listener collates, comforts, cheers, and finally is renewed in a process of cartase intermediated by the reading. This meeting between book and reader allows a close dialogue of the individual with its fears, doubts, dreams, pains and capacity of overcoming. What & quot;it is, without a doubt, the start of the beautiful history of love. Each one will offer to the other what it has of deeper, of more precious. The research in question has for objective to tell the application of the reading as therapeutical function for interned individuals. A work of literature revision was become fullfilled in the last five years on studies lead on this thematic one so that it was possible to glimpse a general panorama of the meaning of the reading mediated in the process of humanization of the period of internment of the individual to the being applied with therapeutical function, which can be reflected in the quality of life of the interned individual, the companion and the doctor group.We conclud that the book opens diverse doors: of the knowledge, the leisure and auto knowledge, that read is to live with quality of life and is, over all, to know itself capable to go beyond, to know that no one is alone in this trip that we call life.
