P114 - Strategic Project of Communication and Marketing to the Virtual Health Library; information; and scientific and technical knowledge in health management model; of BIREME/PAHO/WHO: the application communication and marketing tools on the context of the Virtual Library on Public Health (VHL-PH) for dissemination and promotion

Coordinate efforts of communication and marketing to communicate adequately the positioning is one of the key factors to the Virtual Health Library (VHL) obtains the maximum visibility with its targets and achieves goals and expected results.
The Strategic Project of Communication and Marketing (PECM) is a model to construct and disseminate a Virtual Health Library image. It is formed by one initial survey of the communications objectives and needs of the VHL together with its Advisory Committee. PECM also includes the VHL positioning diagnosis, the analysis of the market perception, up to the definition of strategies that combine different internal and external communication tools.
Objective: Present the evolution of the Strategic Project of Communication and Marketing (PECM), applied in the Virtual Health Library in Public Health (VHL-PH), and its initial results.
Conclusion: The processes of communication should be considered as an integral part of the VHL development methodology – b oth regional and themes. It also should be detailed on VHL guide as a source of information to be carefully developed. Currently, this source of information is classified as FI number five in VHL guide. This need was clear and registered during the Work Group in Communication carried out at the 3rd Regional Coordination Meeting of the Virtual Health Library (BVS 3), in Puebla, in Mexico, in 2003.
Upon be placed in operation, PECM of the VHL-PH it will promote the understanding of the positioning of the VHL-PH, expanding its access and use, with special emphasis on the sources of public health information available in VHL-PH.
